Positive: is my pleasure and honour to be the one to write Puri Acuta's first reference on Booking. If you want to listen to the birds in the day and the frogs at night in the middle of rice paddies and palm and banana trees this is for you. It is quite literally "off the beaten track" with not a car for miles. This, admittedly, does make it difficult to get to but the staff make it easy if town life calls you. If the idea of riding pillion through rice fields on a motor scooter does not thrill you with the spirit of adventure, however, this might not be your vibe! Fear not, however, Dewa will bring you whatever you fancy, and there is a small kitchen for you to use. But bring your own food and drinks. It's an oasis. As for the room, it is the prettiest I have seen on this 75 day research trip around SE Asia. Beautiful decoration inside and out. Very comfy bed and pillows. At present, there are two side-by-side bungalows, two are being built and a "small pool" is planned. Ketut and Dewa literally went out of their way to help me: replacing lost reading glasses, helping to find a lost bag when the airline was less than efficient and arranging onward transportation. Negative: Outside seating is not for relaxing with a book. I strongly suggest a couple of soft chairs or even better, lounge chairs perhaps with garden umbrellas on the side patio where the picnic table is now. Reading lamps beside the bed also please. For bedtime readers this is a cheap but essential items. Soap, shampoo, hairdryer too please. Not everyone has their own. Finally, please explain a little more the private nature of the bungalows and precise directions as ti how to get here: i.e. drop off at Beanary, motorcycle pick up from there. It's easy when you know what to expect, but a bit stressful when you don't.
