Please be aware that from October to April every year, the
government of BC requires that all passenger vehicles driving up Hemlock
Valley Road must use winter tires (Sidewall must be labelled with M+S,
or the 3-peaked mountain/snowflake symbol) and be prepared to use tire

And please also note that April and May are sometimes blessed with more winter snow than spring rain, and those accumulations can take a while to fully melt. Due to the new normal created by the pandemic (remember that?), we continue to block two days after each booking to allow for a thorough cleaning of the entire home and to sanitize frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Our aim is to have you feel safe staying at Bear Behind. If you have any concerns regarding decorative pillows, throws or other items you’d rather avoid, please message us and we’ll remove them for you.
If you have not been to Hemlock Valley before, it is a quiet alpine community with no grocery or fuel services. Provisions must be brought up the mountain with you and Bear Behind has room to accommodate them during your stay.
During the good times and difficult stretches in our lives, it's the promise of Hemlock's solitude while keeping friends and loved ones close at hand that makes this place so darn special.
