Families have enjoyed relaxing getaways at Valentine Lakeside for more than 65 years. The quaint vacation destination is on the quiet, breezy banks of the Llano River in Kingsland, Texas, near where the Llano River meets the Colorado River to form Lake LBJ.

Valentine’s 19 guest rooms range from 1-room efficiencies to 3-bedroom homes, all with fully stocked kitchens, charcoal grills and picnic tables. The RV camp has 8 full hookups and a bath house. Valentine is a great choice for any of life’s celebrations, reunions, retreats and company gatherings. It’s also a base for fishing tournaments, a temporary home for Winter Texans, and a guest house for locals.

Valentinians enjoy a heart-shaped pool, swimming in the lake, boat lifts, water-toy rentals and an on-site essentials store. Plenty of chairs at the shoreline give guests a place to fish and hang out. Mature pecan trees provide a shady canopy for hammock naps. Guests make s’mores in the fire pit and borrow lawn games to play on lakeside terraces.

Despite its remote vibe, Valentine Lakeside is a half mile away from a groceries, restaurants, bars, shops, coffee houses and music venues. Summary: We found this property while needing a last minute pet friendly hurricane evacuation plan. Location was great and the owners were really great to work with! My kids loved being right at the lake and they have all the lake amenities you need (bait, splash mats, boat rental info). Great place to get away from it all and relax.
