Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The hosts were lovely, kind and helpful. They always responded quickly to any question or concern I had. They provided coffee pods, free WiFi and Netflix, places to store my clothes and suitcases, and even offered cleaning services. The apartment is within a 10-minute walk of the central mercado, the rambla, several grocery stores, and more. To help you find your way around, they had really helpful maps on the wall of the streets, the bus routes, etc.(Don't miss the Abraham pastry shop on the next block!)

Negative: This would be great for a short stay, but not ideal for a long-term stay. The sofa-bed in the living room isn't that comfortable for hanging out and watching TV over the long term, since it doesn't really have a back, but you just have to prop some pillows against the wall. Because the apartment is at street level, street noise was fairly constant. The windows are frosted for privacy, but that means very little natural light enters. All of these things are OK for a few days or a week, but become wearisome after a while. I also found this apartment listed on another rental site (not vacation rentals, though) for much less.
