Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Small hotel in a very pleasant neighborhood, staffed with kind locals. The restaurant was convenient, the food well-prepared. We were looking for a place away from the center where we could get a feel for the non-touristy side of Bilbao, and we found it here. The common rooms draw lots of neighbors, so we were able to learn a lot about the place. The metro is a 10 minute walk away, offering easy access to all the cultural sites of the city.

Negative: The lack of exercise facilities was disappointing. Laundry service was very expensive. It sometimes felt as though non-guests took priority over hotel guests in the common areas, where tables were often reserved for regulars.

Summary: A quiet, boutique hotel with a neighborhood vibe.
