"Vista Lago", formerly Hotel Larius, was originally built early in the last century. Very recently the building has been fully restored, with particular attention paid to the finishings and architectural details of its period. There is a shared fitness area and a pool that is typically available from May 1 to October 1. The pool is closed from October 1 to mid to end April) and is closed periodically for maintenance. One underground parking space is available. The elevator access to the apartment is one floor, one stairway above the parking area.
Almost everything in the apartment is new. Beautiful teak and marble tile from Italian quarries cover the floors. All furnishings, appliances, linens, and dinnerware are also new, ready for you to enjoy. Newly installed air conditioning.
Layout: Vista Lago is a three bedroom apartment on the top (fourth) floor of a beautiful gated building. The configuration: A two-bedroom area (sleeping 6), full kitchen and 2 baths, with an adjoining single bedroom/studio area (sleeping 2) with its own private kitchen, bath and entrance-- perfect for the Au-Pair or any guests that would like some additional privacy. In total, the space is 1,400 square feet or 135+ square meters.
The two-bedroom area features a large, open gourmet kitchen with a center island, a living area with a double sleep sofa and two balconies with a full, frontal view of the lake, a dining area with a glass table seating eight, two bedrooms (with a queen and double bed), each with water view balconies, and two marble-tiled, full baths. (En-suite bath in the primary bedroom.)
The studio/1 bedroom area features spectacular lake-front views from the balcony, double sofa-bed, a 2 to 4 person dining table, kitchen and full, marble-tiled bath.

Lake Como is a jewel-like oasis of tranquillity, surrounded by a magical combination of lush Mediterranean foliage and snowy alpine peaks. Enclosed by steep-sided mountains, the blue waters of Lake Como have for centuries attracted visitors, including important statesmen, artists, and glitterati.

Summary: Amazing views. Very clean and had all the staples we needed. The host was responsive and the manager was very nice. Check in was easy. Loved the area. Lake Como is beautiful! We did not have a car, so we ended up walking everywhere, which can be a little tricky with the narrow roads. We tried to figure out the bus schedules, maybe had we stayed longer we would have figured that out better - they seemed to be running late often. Quaint and quiet area. Great restaurant next door and a few good places up in Laglio and down near the Urio ferry docks. The only thing that could have been better was the air conditioner. We had all three bedrooms full and had to sleep with the doors open to the hallway to try to get some air in the rooms. It was pretty warm in the evenings. Overall though, a lovely stay and we would return. Also - it should be mentioned there aren’t any grocery stores nearby. We did find a mini market that had waters and sodas and snacks, but any bigger grocery runs need to be done in the larger cities.
