This city has the very known Avila´s walls, the Encarnation convent, the four posts ( Los Cuatro Postes), or the Real Monastery of Saint Thomas. This city is also known because of the religious tourism round Santa Teresa de Jesus, and San Juan de la Cruz, who lived here.

It is famous because of its excellent traditional gastronomy too, based in Avila´s steaks, Barco´s beans, smashed potatoes or Santa Teresa yolks.
